Queen Vic Model Converted Into Flats
Spring 1999
LONDON The pub that inspired the Queen Vic the College Park Tavern is
being converted into apartments. The bar is really in West London, not
the East End or fictional Walford.
Fifteen years ago, TV set designer Keith Harris spotted the real-life
pub on his way home from work at BBC headquarters and decided it was a
perfect model for the TV prop Queen Vic, whose exterior is a facade;
interior scenes are shot in an interior set. The real pub is being
transformed into 10 one-bedroom flats for the homeless.
